Chester Memories Volume 2

In this Second Volume we look at Chester in 1920 and again in 1929 before the trams were replaced by buses in 1930. We see the city again in 1934. Pre-war farming on a Cheshire farm in 1939 is recorded on early colour film and Chester Motor Club activities are shown in 1939 and 1940. RAF Sealand shows what our aircraft were like just before the Second World War. Boat racing on the River Dee takes place in 1951. We then move to 1962 to see how Chester was over 30 years ago including the Scout Gang Show at the old Royalty Theatre. Steam trains on the Chester, Mold and Denbigh line in 1967 are followed by gigantic locomotives visiting Chester Station as it was in the mid-70's. In the 90's we see the Dee at high tide, the Inland Waterways Festival, the official opening of the Chester to Liverpool electrified railway, the Lord Mayor's parade and more. We finally take a nostalgic look around the city in 1970.
