What was Liverpool like between 1920's and 1930's?

This video shows you film of the era. After a brief look at Liverpool today, we move back in time to 1929 when the working day begins with workers teeming into the city by ferry boat, tram and overhead railway. Blacklers store has a summer sale and cashiers take their annual outing. In the 1920s there is the Liverpool Horse Parade. In 1933 we see summer in Sefton Park and scenes in winter of people skating on the frozen lake. Work goes on in the docks of a busy port. In 1933 the Philharmonic Hall is destroyed by fire, Liverpool Airport opens and work progresses on the Mersey Tunnel. Workmen dig holes in various parts of the city to provide electricity to homes and tramways. We see Liverpool people on their day off at Blundellsands and New Brighton. In 1939 the new Mauretania, built in Birkenhead, departs on her maiden voyage. In 1939, just before the outbreak of war, gas masks are assembled in Linacre Lane Power Station. These are just some of the remarkable contents of this video production.
